PEDIATRIC POWER PLAY
Kennedy McCrea
MA, RCC
Hi, I'm Kennedy!
I support families navigating uncertainty about how best to support a child who may be experiencing racing thoughts, big emotions, or difficulty navigating social and emotional experiences. Together, we work to build understanding, explore meaningful next steps, and help you feel equipped, supported, and confident throughout your child’s journey.
I understand that every child, youth, and young adult experiences the world differently. What brings one young person to counselling may look very different from another, which is why I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My role is to meet each individual where they are, creating a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where they feel safe, understood, and accepted for exactly who they are.
Together, we work to make sense of life's challenges while building confidence, emotional awareness, resilience, and practical coping skills. My goal is to help young people not only navigate current difficulties but also develop lifelong tools that strengthen their sense of self, relationships, and overall well-being.

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of supporting children, youth, and young adults with a wide range of experiences, including ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and the impacts of complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences. My background includes working with children with autism spectrum disorder through behaviour intervention, as well as supporting students from kindergarten through Grade 12 in both public and independent school settings.
My practice is grounded in social-emotional learning and informed by a trauma-responsive, strengths-based approach. I believe meaningful growth happens when young people feel genuinely safe, seen, and understood. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work, and I view counselling as a collaborative journey where we work together to discover strengths, develop new skills, and create lasting change.
Whether I am supporting a child who is learning to understand their emotions, a teen navigating identity and relationships, or a young adult facing uncertainty about the future, my goal is to help each person feel more connected, capable, and confident in themselves.
Outside of the counselling room, I am a daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend, and helper, and from a young age I have felt deeply drawn to walking alongside others during life's most challenging moments. I love travelling, enjoying sunny days at the lake, spending time with the people who fill my bucket, or tending to my flower garden. I believe the little moments of connection, joy, and rest are just as important as the big milestones, and I strive to bring that same balance into the work I do with every family.
